The Product Features a Combination of Stiffness and High-Melt Flow

Plastics solutions provider Borouge has exhibited its sustainability advancements in consumer food packaging technology at the Chinaplas 2013 exhibition that took place from 20-23 May in Guangzhou.

The company introduced its Bormod HD915CF, a cast homopolymer PP that is produced by using Borealis Nucleation Technology (BNT).

According to the company, the crystalline structure of the PP is suitable as the core layer of Vacuum Metallisable Cast Polypropylene (VMCPP) film applications. It offers various benefits including achievable film stiffness and film down-gauging potential of 20 - 30%.

The stiffness of HD915CF also offers the benefit of heat resistance and better barrier properties. The benefits allow for the use of thinner films with the polymer to meet similar stringent packaging requirements that are achieved only with thicker films.

Another product introduced was a high flow PP homopolymer BorPure HJ311MO, suited for fast and economical injection molding of odor-free containers.

Containers made from BorPure HJ311MO serve the growing deli and takeaway markets and exhibit improved breakage-resistant properties.

The product features a combination of stiffness and high-melt flow that enables the light-weighting performance of containers while retaining material rigidity. Its non-warping characteristic makes it suitable for rectangular lids and containers.

BorPure HJ311MO can be injection molded at lower temperatures and at higher speeds.
