Scoular Plans to Construct a New Shuttle-Train-Loading Grain-Handling Facility

Scoular plans to construct a new shuttle-train-loading grain-handling facility in collaboration with the Union Pacific Railroad at a greenfield site near Willis,Kansas,US.

The construction is slated to begin in the fall of 2012.When complete, the state-of-the art facility will feature high-speed truck unloading and grain drying capacity to benefit area farmers.

Scoular chief operating officer Bob Ludington said the company has done extensive research and planning to identify the right location for this project.

"We're pleased to have selected Willis given the combination of the area's substantial crop production and our strong working relationship with Union Pacific,"Ludington added.

The site will accommodate a loop track for up to 120 rail cars as well as Union Pacific shuttle loading/unloading capability for grains and fertilizer.Scoular's network will connect area farmers, providing opportunities in local, regional, national, and worldwide markets.

The facility will be Scoular's sixth shuttle train loader in the state of Kansas and a strategic investment in its North American network of more than 60 grain-handling facilities.
