Automotive supplier Visteon has expanded its Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Electronics (YFVE) manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China, to help its electronics joint venture support the growing customer needs.
The company has more than doubled the size of the plant to 30,000m2, which produces driver information, audio and infotainment, and centre console controls, and also accommodate up to 1,300 employees.
The company said that the expansion will increase the plant's yearly capacity by almost 50% and allow it to include more manufacturing equipment and processes for improved efficiency.
Visteon product group president Steve Meszaros said that the plant expansion further strengthens the company's already formidable electronics capability in China.
"YFVE is one of Visteon's longest-standing joint ventures in China," Meszaros said.
"We remain committed to supporting its future growth by bringing global advanced technology and world-class manufacturing management experience and practices."
YFVE general manager Decio Mendao said," the expansion of our Shanghai plant enhances our capabilities to better serve our customers with the highest quality products."
