Sobeys Quebec is recalling Earth Greens brand Organic Italian Blend salad in Canada as the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency(CFIA).
The product being recalled was sold in a 198g plastic clamshell package bearing UPC 8 18431 00107 3,best before date of 13 July 2012,and lot code 2217915MI.
Sobeys Quebec imported the product and distributed it in Quebec,New Brunswick,Nova Scotia,Newfoundland and Labrador,Ontario and Nunavut.Sobeys Quebec and CFIA have warned the public not to eat the product.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled.However,consumption of the contaminated food may cause listeriosis,a foodborne illness,which can cause high fever,severe headache,neck stiffness and nausea.
