Amcor Flexibles Launches a Thermoformable Cellulose-Based Solution for The Fresh Market

Amcor Flexibles has launched a new packaging solution Packpyrus, a thermoformable cellulose-based solution for the fresh market. It has an oxygen barrier and is suitable for pre-sliced products such as meat or cheese.

Packpyrus is offered in three versions - Packpyrus Flexible for vacuum pack base webs, as well as Packpyrus Semi-Rigid and Packpyrus Rigid for modified atmosphere base webs.

The lightweight Packpyrus Flexible and Packpyrus Rigid solutions offer improvement in life cycle performance considerably.

According to Amcor Flexibles, the products use renewable fibers and optimized manufacturing processes and offer reduction in the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of about 70% and 60%, respectively.

Amcor Packpyrus, which has 'Kraft paper' natural look and feel, brings improved product differentiation on shelf.

The Packpyrus is manufactured by the company in a plant with ISO 14001 certification.
