Flint Group has acquired Arkansas based American Inks and Coatings (AIC) for undisclosed amount.
American Inks and Coatings is engaged in providing inks and related products for the rotogravure, flexographic packaging, and specialty printing industries.
The company expects the acquisition of AIC to combine two the suppliers of inks and coatings to the North American packaging industry, creating a strategic position in the paper & board packaging segment.
The deal is also expected to enhance Flint Group's position in the flexible packaging segment.
Flint Group packaging and narrow web president Doug Aldred said: "The investment by Flint Group is confirmation of its strategy and commitment to strengthen our foundation in Paper & Board and Flexible Packaging - both of which are key print segments for the company.
"By combining the technical innovations and product expertise of both Flint Group and AIC, we provide Packaging printers in North America with a customer-focused inks and coatings supplier who can provide the best overall solutions.
The acquisition will also allow Flint Group to expand its product portfolio while boosting its overall support of packaging printers in North America.
Subject to customary closing conditions, including necessary regulatory approvals, the transaction is scheduled to be completed later in 2016.

Flint Group provides products including inks, blankets, pressroom chemistry, flexographic plates and sleeves, consumables and colourants. It also provides printers, publishers, packaging printers and converters.
