Swedish truck manufacturer Volvo is planning to begin production of a new truck in its FH series portfolio the last quarter of this year.
Volvo is also planning to produce a common series of cabs for its Renault, Mack and Volvo brands through a total investment of around $1.43bn, according to Swedish business daily Dagens Industri.
The new truck will be unveiled in September, before the IAA truck fair in Hannover and has begun to adjust its cab factory in Umea to start production of the new truck cab in the Q4.
Volvo's Fh series trucks will be powered by a 12.8-litre engine featuring overhead camshaft, four valves per cylinder, electronic unit injection and the company's VEB Volvo Engine Brake.
The engine will deliver outputs between 420hp and 540hp.
