Sporting Goods and Outdoor Playground Equipment Industry Overview

Zhang Mei, The head of Equipment Center Exhibition Department, State Sports General Administration, revealed in an interview with reporters in Mar. 20, 2013 that the number of China's sporting goods exporting countries has now accumulated to more than 110.

Among them, the processing trade exports, as the key part, contribute significantly. These products are mainly sports equipment, shoes, clothes and other products, and cheap is its main advantage. In this regard, Zhang Mei said that among many export countries and regions, the USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom ranked the top five Chinese sporting goods exports, up to 65% of the total exports, , which are the important overseas markets.

However, Zhang Mei said, influenced by the widespread impact of the world economic crisis, the international sports market currently shows a general downturn , and as the world's second largest country in manufacturing China naturally can not be spared.

According to "China sporting goods industry 2012 annual report" shows that year, six major domestic famous brands total inventory amounted up to 3.721 billion yuan, getting increased compared to 3.699 billion Yuan in 2011, which directly resulted in the collapse of rave brand stores.

In response to this phenomenon, Peng Xiao, the deputy director of State Sports General Administration, had clearly expressed that there are indications show that Chinese sporting goods industry has entered 'winter' time.

Zhang Mei told reporters that in order to usher in the "spring" as early as possible, and deal with the trade barriers, tariffs and other "disorder" created by the traditional markets of Europe and USA in responding to the saturated market, Chinese sporting goods market industry is now beginning to transfer to emerging markets of Brazil, India, Middle East, etc.

Especially in Brazil, a series of global competitions will be organized in the next few years. It has become the "Hotcake" in the world sports market.

"It is the market that we are going to further develop", Zhang Mei explained, as the fifth largest country in the world, Brazil has a large population, a huge potential market. But the development of sports equipment in the industry is not mature, many products rely on imports. In the next few years, many events as the world cup, the Olympic Games and other events will be held in Brazil. Because of the above reasons, we are positive on the market. Besides, the research on Sports Expo exhibitors shows they are also optimistic about this.
