Taiwan-based ODMs Ability Enterprise, Altek, Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Asia Optical will ship 6.26 million digital cameras in total in the third quarter of 2013, increasing 2.4% on quarter but decreasing 38.8% on year, according to Digitimes Research.
Of the shipments, 25.1% will be 20-megapixel CCD models, 4.3% 18-megapixel CMOS models, 49.2% 16-megapixel CCD models and 16.9% 16-megapixel CMOS models. 18-megapixel CMOS digital cameras will begin shipping for the first time, Digitimes Research indicated.
Ability Enterprise will take up 50.64% of the shipments, Altek 25.56%, Foxconn 19.97% and Asia Optical 3.83%.
Nikon will be the largest client accounting for 41.21% of the shipments, followed by Fujifilm with 14.70%, Sony with 12.14%, Olympus with 11.18%, Casio with 9.58%, Panasonic with 3.19% and Samsung with 1.60%.
