Skjodt-Barrett Contract Packaging is planning to boost production at its facility in Indiana,Lebanon,in order to address the increased demand for its food products.
Skjodt-Barrett produces organic and non-organic baby food,fruit snacks and fruit smoothies in spouted pouches for a variety of global infant nutrition brand leaders.
Skjodt-Barrett president and CEO Dan Skjodt said the company has seen increased interest from the customers,and the demand forecast has quadrupled in the last 18 months.
"We are working aggressively to meet our customers'goals,and at the same time are taking the right steps to support our brand partners,ensuring food safety and product quality remain our top priorities,"Skjodt added.
To support the increased production,the company plans to add 150 jobs at its Indiana plant by September 2012.Jobs being added will consist of food equipment operators,quality control professionals,maintenance technicians,and production line packers.
According to the company,the North American market for foods in spouted pouches is rapidly growing,and will likely reach one billion pouches by 2014.
