Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has made its debut at the New York Stock Exchange, with the shares to move from Milan stock exchange to NYSE.
The combination forms seventh-largest global automaker and the company plans to increase vehicles sales by almost 60% in the coming years.
According to sources, the company's registration in NYSE will give U.S. investors the chance gets their hands into growing global market for cars and trucks.
However, the automobile group will be registered with London headquarters.
Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne told reporters: "As a car company, as a global producer of vehicles, I think we're fully equivalent to the other Detroit two.
"And the objective in coming to New York as a stock listing is really to get us evaluated and benchmarked against them."
