Leather upholstery resource Simon Li is launching a collection of mid-century modern seating groups at this week's High Point Market that is aimed at today's smaller living spaces and urban lifestyles.
Called the Modern American collection, the new groups employ design elements from the mid-20th century, but have been transformed to the scale and comfort desired by today's consumer, said Jackson Carpenter, president of Simon Li's U.S. operations.
"Inspired by the demand for younger consumers for cleaner lines, Modern American fills a category missing in our line," Carpenter said. "Staying true to who we are, clean lines are covered in more traditional colors that work with a majority of today's homes."
The collection initially will have eight stationary seating groups and sectionals with sofa retail price points of $1,099 to $1,799.
Carpenter said the leather articles and colors used in the collection accent the product's modern heritage, and noted that many groups have correlating fabric pillows and accent chairs. In addition, most pieces have metal bases with unique leg finishes.
Simon Li's showroom is space 220 of Plaza Suites.
