BioScrip, a provider of comprehensive infusion and home care solutions, has agreed to buy HomeChoice Partners for $70.0m in cash.
Subsidiary of DaVita HealthCare Partners, HomeChoice is involved in providing alternate-site infusion pharmacy services from various US locations including Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, and Alabama.
BioScrip president and chief executive officer Rick Smith said HomeChoice also has reputation for clinical excellence, payor relationships and customer service.
"This transaction is also consistent with our stated goal of building our infusion business through strategic and opportunistic acquisitions, which meet our financial criteria and enable us to expand our national footprint," Smith added.
The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approval, is expected to be closed in the first quar-ter of 2013.
