Avery Dennison, a Netherlands-based company, has added a new food-approved topcoated product, PP60 top cavitated white film, to its labelling film portfolio.
This film comes with S2045N hotmelt adhesive, which will join the company's existing TC7007 topcoat along with a food-approved topcoat in its standard film range.
The new product complies with Article 3.1.a of Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and can be used in any food application including chilled conditions that need higher performance levels. It also deals with application challenges like labelling cold and moist surfaces traditionally found in chilled products such as dairy, cheese, and meats.
Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials - Europe senior product manager for filmic label materials Rob Groen in 't Wout said: "There are plenty of challenges in the food segment, but the most critical one faced by all food producers today is the tough regulatory environment. Our goal is to do everything possible to make food labelling choices simple and productive."

The product's S2045N hotmelt adhesive is designed to offer good tack and enable adhesion on surfaces of different kinds.
