Turkana Food Is Recalling Turkish 'turkana Valley' Dried Apricots

US-based Turkana Food is recalling Turkish 'Turkana Valley' dried apricots as the product contains sulfites as preservatives, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall was initiated after New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets found high levels of sulfite in the dried apricots during routine product sampling.

The recalled dried apricots product of Turkey was distributed to retail stores across the northeastern part of the US.

These products were sold in 250g and 500g packageswith an orange and black colored label that bears lot code 11-4, expiry date 2-2013 and UPC 8692594007804; and lot code 11-3, expiry date 2-2013 and UPC 8692594007811.

There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumers are advised to discard the recalled products or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
