Turkey's Rebar Exports Amounted to 611,817 Metric Tons, Decreasing by 14.3 Percent

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November last year Turkey's rebar (including round bar) exports amounted to 611,817 metric tons, decreasing by 14.3 percent compared to the previous month and up 12 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $360 million, falling by 16.1 percent compared to the previous month and down 1.6 percent from November 2011.

On the other hand, in the first 11 months of 2012 Turkey's rebar exports stood at 7.57 million metric tons, up 23.67 percent year on year, while the total revenue from these exports amounted to $4.76 billion, increasing by 17.3 percent as compared to January-November 2011.

In the January-November period of last year, Turkey's rebar exports to the US, one of the largest rebar export destinations of Turkey, more than doubled, while rebar exports to the UAE decreased by 23.3 percent, both compared to the same period of the previous year.
