UK-based establishment Ewden Vale has recalled its Salmon Burgers as they contain barley (gluten) that is not declared on the product label.
The product associated with the recall is 350g Ewden Vale brand Salmon Burgers with Best before date: 28 December 2014.
According to the UK Food Standards Agency, the malt vinegar used in the product should be labelled as barley malt vinegar as it contains gluten.
Ewden Vale has removed Salmon Burgers from sale and will contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will notify its members about the withdrawal.
The company also issued a point-of-sale notice, which will warn the customers about the recall.
Consumption of products made with cereals containing gluten may cause health risk in people allergic to barley or gluten.
Customers who have bought the recalled product are advised not to consume it and return it to the place of purchase.
