Peter Gabriele, Vice President, Research and Development and Jeremy Harris, Ph.D., Technical Director, will present "Anatomy of a Next-Generation Bioresorbable Coating for Medical Devices" during a live webinar on Tuesday, September 23 at 11:00 am (ET).
Gabriele and Harris will discuss the benefits of coating biomedical textile structures with a bioresorbable coating such as poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS). Regenerez? (PGS) in a coating formulation has the potential to improve biocompatibility by promoting tissue in-growth, enabling controlled drug release, and solving compliance mismatch issues with bodily tissue. The webinar will also examine research currently being conducted at Secant Medical, including analysis via scanning electron microscopy and infrared microscopy, and results of PGS coating degradation (in vitro), including morphology changes such as surface degradation.
"During this webinar event attendees will learn how the characteristics of Regenerez can improve the function and biocompatibility of a coating," said Peter Gabriele. "We will also have the opportunity to share current research results that demonstrate how Regenerez performs when applied to a polyester substrate, along with how analytical instrumentation enhances the assessment of results."
