China Steel Corp. (c), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan announced to cut its list prices for steel wire and bar products by NT$500/ton for next January/February.
CSC stated that it decided to cut prices for steel wire and bar products as the downstream buyers request CSC to cut prices.
It’s learned that the Taiwanese government approves to import steel wire products from China next year and the downstream buyers expect CSC to remain prices flat to enhance competiveness to fight against the cheap imports.
After the adjustment, the prices for low-carbon steel wires are at NT$21,200/ton and the actual selling prices are at NT$20,100~NT$20,700/ton.
