In February This Year,Turkey's Crude Steel Output Increased by 0.7 Percent Year on Year

In February this year, Turkey's crude steel output increased by 0.7 percent year on year and declined by 5.8 percent month on month to 2.67 million metric tons, according to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces declined 1.4 percent to 1.83 million metric tons, while production by blast furnaces increased by 5.7 percent to 832,000 metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in the January-February period of this year, Turkey's crude steel output recorded a slight decrease of 0.1 percent year on year, totaling 5.50 million mt. In the given period, Turkey's billet output decreased by 3.7 percent to 3.89 million mt, while country's slab output increased by 10 percent to 1.60 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.

In the first two months of this year, Turkey's crude steel production by electric arc furnaces declined two percent to 3.77 million metric tons, while production by blast furnaces increased by 4.3 percent to 1.73 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
