Big Rock Brewery has launched its first international collaboration, Colaborador Espanol.
When you think of Spain, Don Quixote, The Armada, Real Madrid, rich wines, and dramatic bullfights are a few things that likely come to mind before beer. But after drinking Colaborador Espanol we think you'll be adding "great craft beer" to that list.
Picture this, our CEO Bob Sartor in a small Spanish pub at the end of a days hike along the Il Camino. In the heart of wine country, (and after numerous boring lagers) he's instead served a special craft beer by Mateo and Bernabe and Friends. "What poured into my glass was one of the crispest and effervescent pale ales I had ever had. [I] decided that we would one day collaborate with this small brewery" writes Bob.
Fast Forward... and two years later Alberto Pancheco Martinez (all the way from Spain's La Rioja region) and our own Brewmaster, Paul Gautreau have collaborated for a Big Rock first... and it's ready for you to drink.
Wine may reign in Spain, but craft beer is gaining ground... and this brew will give you a glimpse why. Paul and Alberto bring the adventures and passion of Spain to you in this Belgian farmhouse ale in the style of a saison. Unfiltered, it pours a light autumn orange... with a spicy, citrusy flavor profile featuring fresh orange, lemon peel, thyme and pepper. Available only in Alberta for a limited time. To find out where, follow us on twitter, facebook, Instagram. Enjoy this seasonal saison while it lasts!
