Cadbury,a brand owned by American food company Kraft Foods,has launched its Switzerland-based chocolate brand Toblerone in India,as a part of the initiative to boost its chocolate portfolio in the country.
Cadbury India snacking and strategy director Chandramouli Venkatesan said that the Toblerone launch is a part of the company's objective to grow in the premium gifting chocolate segment.
"Being the pioneers of chocolate gifting in India,we believe that Toblerone with its unique shape,distinctive taste,Swiss heritage and premium quality is the perfect choice to make a mark in gifting,"Venkatesan said.
Toblerone,which is manufactured at Bern Brunnen in Switzerland and exported to other countries globally,will be available in varying 50g to 400g packs and will be priced between INR65($1.16)and INR430($7.67).
Cadbury India product portfolio includes Cadbury Dairy Milk,Bournvita,5 Star,Perk,Bournville and Celebrations.
