AEIM Has Thereby Adjusted The Code to Comply with The EU Timber Regulation

At its annual general meeting on 9 March 2012 in Madrid, AIEM, the Spanish timber importers and timber industry, association voted unanimously in favour of the revised code of conduct for the import of wood products. AEIM has thereby adjusted the code to comply with the EU Timber Regulation. In accordance with that regulation, the marketing of timber from illegal felling is banned with effect from 3 March 2013. Importers who are marketing their wood products in the EU for the first time have to prove their legality as part of the so-called due diligence rule. Source: euwid-wood-products.com
