Huhtamaki Oyj has announced plans to establish a new plant in Russia's Tatarstan Republic.
The plant, which will come up in the Alabuga special economic zone, will produce paper, plastic packaging, and disposable tableware, plasticsnews.com reported.
Huhtamaki Commonwealth of Independent States sales and marketing director Natalia Valuhova said construction of the plant is set to commence in 2014.
According to sources in the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the investments volume may reach RUB1bn (€30m).
The Finnish packaging company already operates a plant in Ivanteevka, Moscow.
