It's reported that the city of Osceola has firmed to invest US$2 million in the Big River Steel mill and would be the latest government entity to kick in the project that is expected to create 525 permanent jobs and more than 200 temporary construction jobs. Earlier this week, the Arkansas Legislature approved a bill of US$125 million; last month, the Mississippi County Quorum Court also appreciated a bill of US$14.5 million for this project.
