At the annual French digital label trophy competition, host Etiq & Pack awarded SPGPrints again with a trophy for digital label printing, in the category Special international prize, in hotel Intercontinental in Paris.
The jury praised SPGPrints’ digitally printed labels for their photographic quality, digital white and versioning possibilities. It’s the second award in two years. In 2013 SPGPrints has been honoured with a trophy in the category Wine & Spirits. The digital label trophy competition is part of the annual event The Digital Label Forum- taken place on March 19 in Paris- and organised by the French magazine for labels and packaging Etiq & Pack.
The award-winning SPGPrints DSI digital UV inkjet label printer offers modularity in print positions, configuration and width, low ownership cost and crisp reproduction. Custom-built as a stand-alone or complete print – converting line in widths from 135mm to 530mm, the system is an attractive alternative to flexo for straightforward and complex labels of runs up to 5,000 linear metres.
The printing platform, with CMYK printheads as standard, can be built or easily upgraded with up to six more. Options are orange and violet to make 90% of the Pantone colour gamut achievable, digital white with ‘screen-look’ opacity, full colour VDP (variable data printing) and digital primer to maximise substrate compatibility and to enhance the printed image with raised effects.
Photo-quality is a given thanks to SPGPrints proprietary scratch / chemical-resistant UV inks, offering BWS-7 light fastness. Intermediate in-line LED pinning stations ensure crisp text, fine lines and maximise colour definition. A water-cooled chill drum enables processing of heat-sensitive substrates.
Seamless integration of any AB Graphic semi-rotary finishing technology opens up a host of single-pass converting options, like inline lacquering for an identical look to conventional print, foiling possibilities alongside die-cutting and slitting.
Its exceptional quality and versioning possibilities made the DSI winner of the ‘best digital label’ award at Etiq & Pack magazine’s 2014 Digital Label Forum.
Mr. Bas Hoijtink, Commercial Manager Graphics states: “Winning this award is another very positive sign for us. We are delighted winning this trophy for the second time in a row. The fact that we won this trophy in yet another category confirms the performance and versatility of our technology being accepted by the market.”
