Fino Olive Oil is voluntarily recalling six varieties of its infused olive oil, as a precautionary measure to prevent botulism.
The recalled varieties include Basil Olive Oil, Garlic Olive Oil, Chilli Olive Oil, Lemon Olive Oil, Orange Olive Oil and Rosemary Olive Oil.
The recall has been initiated as the effectiveness of process controls produced by the company cannot be demonstrated satisfactorily, which may affect the safety of products.
According to UK Food Standard Agency (FSA), the issue relates to controlling factors to prevent the growth and toxin production of Clostridium botulinum.
Clostridium botulinum is said to create a serious form of food poisoning known as botulism.
The recall notices of product are being displayed in stores, noted FSA.
