It is reported that Japan's Trade Ministry said the 2014 season Japan finished steel demand is expected to 0.6% up slightly.

If this prediction were able to accomplish, it means that Japan’s steel demand would drop slightly by 0.1% quarter on quarter in the first quarter of 2014.

Affected by seasonal factors, Japan steel demand is expected to decline in the construction industry in the first quarter of 2014.

Starting in April 2014, Japan’s increased consumption tax will boost new home sales set to release in advance and industry's demand for steel from the real estate is expected to remain stable.

Meanwhile, Japan’s auto production continues to grow and shipbuilding industry seems to have bottomed out.

The overall steel demand is expected to continue to recover from manufacturing.
