Lumigon T3 Smartphone Lets You Take Pictures in The Dark

A new smartphone from Danish manufacturer Lumigon is the first to feature a night vision camera.

Smartphone cameras seem to be getting better and better, particularly when it comes to low-light performance. The new Lumigon T3, however, gives all-new meaning to the term 'low-light performance.'

In a bid to differentiate it from a congested field, Lumigon has given its new flagship phone a 4-megapixel night vision camera with dual IR flash for those Spring Watch garden wildlife moments. Yes, it'll take snaps in complete darkness - albeit in creepy washed-out Predator-vision.

This night vision camera comes in addition to a more regular 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel selfie-cam with front flash.

Besides packing three cameras, the Lumigon T3 has two other notable tricks up its sleeve.

For one thing, its body is made from molybdenum 316 stainless steel, which is known for its high level of strength. The front and back of the device, meanwhile, are coated in Gorilla Glass 4, and the entire thing is dust and water-resistant.

Another novel feature is the T3's BackTouch facility. This is a touch-sensitive pad that sits below the rear camera, and it allows you to scroll through content without touching the screen.

In other ways, this is a decidedly mid-range phone by conventional standards. It comes with a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 CPU, and 3GB of RAM. Lumigon has been pretty generous with its storage, though, at 128GB.

Also, the Lumigon T3 also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is more than you can say for many new phones, and it has a front-mounted fingerprint sensor to boot.

Being a little bit different tends to cost you, and sure enough, the Lumigon T3 will set you back €645 (£503). It's available to buy now through the Luigon website.
