Third quarter US and Canadian production of OSB and softwood plywood was largely unchanged from that reported in the second quarter and in the same period of last year. A total of 5.966 million m³ of structural panels was produced in the third quarter, of which 3.497 (3.469) million m³ were accounted for by OSB and 2.469 (2.519) million m³ by softwood plywood. As such, the combined OSB and softwood plywood production was just 1% ahead of the second quarter’s total. Quarter-to-quarter growth in OSB production was slightly more robust than for plywood.
