Mexico's Chamber of Foreign Trade Has Extended Anti-dumping Measures

Mexico’s chamber of foreign trade has extended anti-dumping measures on welded steel link chain imports from China, local media reported this week.

According to reports, the country’s ministry of economy will continue imposing duties at the current rate of $0.50/kilogram for a period of up to five years, effective on July 18.

The duties were at $0.70/kg following an investigation in 2003, and were lowered since.

The duties are a result of a request from Mexican steel producer DeAcero, which claimed current duties were not enough to prevent damage to Mexican producers.
