Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 30.9 million mt in November this year, decreasing by 4.97 percent compared to October and down 5.13 percent compared to the same month of 2012, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in November fell 6.54 percent compared to the previous month and was up 14.08 percent year on year, totaling $3.01 billion.
In November, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 433,600 mt, decreasing 22.86 percent compared to the previous month and down 9.40 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $219.7 million, decreasing 19.85 percent compared to October and down 8.69 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in November Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 76,600 metric tons, increasing 26.19 percent from October and down 65.65 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $66.9 million rising 6.53 percent month on month and down 58.50 percent from the November 2012 level.
On the other hand, in the first 11 months of this year, Brazil's export volume of iron ore increased by 0.8 percent, while exports of semi-finished iron and steel products decreased by 21 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
