Australia Post and Ozsale, a members-only shopping club, have announced a multi-million dollar logistics partnership to provide delivery services to the growing number of shoppers taking part in online sales.
The deal involves Australia Post using its domestic and international network to deliver Ozsale purchases direct from warehouses around the world to homes across Australia and New Zealand.
Australia Post executive general manager parcels & express services Richard Umbers said the partnership provides greater delivery choice and convenience than ever before.
"As well as receiving their purchases faster, Australians will be able track their orders direct from the warehouse. With the option of having purchases delivered to one of our 24/7 parcel lockers and free returns for unwanted items, shopping online is easier than ever," he said.
The partnership extends beyond delivery for Ozsale's 9.5 million members, currently shipping 20,000 orders a day. Ozsale has joined as a foundation partner for Australia Post's recently launched Online Shopping Mall and Australia Post provides priority delivery for Ozsale's Flash Frenzy. In November, Ozsale's Flash Frenzy saw 475,000 items ordered across the three day event.
Ozsale founder and chairman Jamie Jackson said Australia Post's focus on the online shopper and network meant that it was the obvious partner to grow their business.
"This is an alliance between Australia's parcels network and [one of] Australia's leading online shopping clubs. Every day we deliver tens of thousands of parcels across Australia and New Zealand. In Australia Post we have a partner who understands the needs of online buyers and is able to deliver in every sense of the word."
As part of the three-year business deal, Australia Post will provide:
Tracking from the warehouse to the door Access to free, secure 24/7 Parcel Lockers at more than 150 locations across Australia. The option of collecting their purchases from more than 200 after-hours collection points. Free returns from Ozsale at more than 16,000 locations. No increase to the standard Ozsale delivery fee.
