According to data released by the Korean Iron and Steel Association (KOSA), Korea imported 42,069 tons of hot rolled (HR) stainless steel coils/plates in March, rising by 9.3% from a month ago and increasing by 21.8% year on year. Meanwhile, the import prices averaged at US$2,258/ton, falling by US$45/ton month on month. In March, China was the largest exporter of HR stainless coils/plates with 17,571 tons, accounting for 41.8% of total. To specify steel grade, the imports of 300 grades were at 12,831 tons with prices of US$2,533/ton; those of 400 grades were at 27,796 tons with prices of NT$2,150/ton.
