Peru's exporters' association (Adex) forecast, jewelry production for the domestic market in 2013 will grow by 15%, thanks to the rise of the purchasing power of the residents.
Adex association - jewelry and silver branch President, Julio Perez Alvan said, With the rising purchasing power of the residents, A, B and C+ consumers would like to buy better design and larger jewelry, so domestic jewelry demand increases.
Julio Perez Alvan also said, domestic jewelry market has become more and more complex, so customers have a greater demand for highly value products. At the same time, high requirements of jewelry design is prompted the increasing domestic demand for skilled Labour.
Because the domestic jewelry production still can not meet the increasing demand, so only rely on importing from China. At present, the domestic jewelry accounted for 60% of the market, and remaining 40% for imported jewelry.
