Mexican Steel Consumption in 2012 Was Increased to 23.6 Million Tons

It is learned that Mexican steel consumption in 2012 was increased to 23.6 million tons from 21.2 million tons in 2011, around 11.2%. But for Mr. Alonso Ancira, president of Mexican steel institution Canacero, the beneficiaries of the consumption increase are other countries who export their overcapacity to Mexico, such as China, Korea, Brazil, Russia and Ukraine. In fact, the national steelmakers produced almost the same quantity in 2012, but the imports of steel were increased from 7.1 million tons in 2011 to 9.6 million tons in 2012. He said the global overcapacity is around 320 million tons, this number is almost double than whole America's annual production, therefore, the country doesn't have the defense system to fight against the economic tsunami and the unfair competence from the countries mentioned.
