Brazilian Steelmakers Are Planning to Raise Steel Prices for Car Makers

It is learned that Brazilian steelmakers are planning to raise steel prices for car makers, the increase could be ranged between 7% and 10%. The steel price for auto sector remained flat for almost two years. According to source that is close to this negotiation, it is tough because car makers are reluctant to grant such increase of cost, the negotiation could last till 2014. Brazil is the No. 4 biggest car maker country in the world, Fiat, Volkswagen, GM and Ford has presence in the country; Usiminas and CSN are domestic steelmakers who providing flat steel product to this sector.
