WABCO Holdings has announced the expansion of its electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) technology, called OptiRide, to the truck market in China.
OptiRide has been adopted by China National Heavy Truck Corporation (CNHTC) on many of its trucks, making WABCO, the first supplier of electronically controlled air suspension technology for Chinese trucks and buses.
CNHTC is a manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in China.
The ECAS technology provides fuel savings of up to 5% under certain conditions and also provides automatic load transfer to reduce axle overload. This in turn helps to reduce vehicle wear-and-tear and other operational costs.
CNHTC president Cai Dong said: "Equipping our trucks with WABCO's electronically controlled air suspension is a major differentiator for CNHTC in vehicle efficiency and driver comfort, reflecting WABCO's continued success in adapting its technology portfolio to the specific requirements of the Chinese market."
"WABCO's OptiRide technology helps CNHTC to offer lower total cost of vehicle ownership, increased fuel economy and reduced emissions to our truck customers."
