Iran's Crude Steel Output Rose by 10.4% in The First 11 Months of 2012

MNA reported that Iran’s crude steel output rose by 10.4% in the first 11 months of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011.

However, the output hit 1.22 million tonne in November, showing 12% YoY.

Mr Vajihollah Jafari deputy industry minister of Iranian said that the country’s annual crude steel output is projected to reach 55 million tonne by 2025.

Mr Jafari said that “The output stood at 12.7 million tonne last year,” adding that Iran also had produced some 16 million tonne of steel products.

Mr Mehdi Ghazanfari, Industry, Mine and Trade Minister said that Iran will become one of the world’s main steel exporters by March 2016.
