Samsung will build up a package and test plant in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, northwest China with USD 500 million to expand business scale in the nation.
Last year, the company spent USD 7 billion in building up a chip plant in the city. In January 2013, it injected USD 1.7 billion into business situated in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, east China. As global biggest mobile phone, storage chip and TV maker, Samsung is trying to tighten control of manufacturing network while diversifying customer groups, including Chinese plants under 250 local suppliers.
The above package and test plant will break earth from January 2014 and be complete by the end of the year.
