Argentina's Crude Steel Output 3.8 Percent Higher Than in 2012

 According to the report released by Argentina's steel chamber, in December last year the country's crude steel production was down 7.6 percent month on month and increased by 29.9 percent year on year, amounting to 433,600 metric tons. Production in 2013 totaled 5.19 million metric tons, 3.8 percent higher than in 2012 and 7.6 percent lower than in 2011, which was the highest production figure in recent years.

In December last year, Argentina's production of hot rolled steel amounted to 405,600 metric tons, down 7.1 percent month on month and rising by 2.9 percent compared to December 2012. In 2013, Argentina's hot rolled steel production totaled 5.14 million metric ton, up 3.8 percent year on year.

In December 2013, the country's cold rolled flat steel production decreased by 7.2 percent month on month and by 4.3 percent year on year to 115,000 metric tons, while output increased by 6.5 percent year on year to 1.51 million metric tons in 2013.
