Lextar Electronics, which makes LED epitaxial wafers and chips and provides LED packaging services, has reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.419 billion (US$47.3 million) for August, hitting a monthly record for the third consecutive time with growth of 0.31% on month and 14.73% on year.
January-August consolidated revenues reached NT$9.849 billion, increasing by 6.22% on year.
The August revenues were driven by increased shipments of LED light tubes and panels, Lextar said.
Lextar has expanded LED packaging capacity by about 40%, the company noted, and will expand production capacity for LED epitaxial wafers and chips by 40-50% by adding MOCVD sets, modifying existing ones to be compatible with both 4- and 6-inch LED wafers, and hiking production efficiency, with the expansion to be completed in first-half 2015.
