Israel-based coloring ingredients supplier LycoRed is planning to launch new high-intensity beta-carotene colorant formulations named Lyc-O-Beta Intense and BetaCote Intense at Drinktec, which will be held from September 16-20 2013.
The new vegetarian, anti-allergic and dichloromethane-free colorants will be available in both natural and nature-identical sources. They are claimed to deliver a final product color shade similar to competitive products.
In addition, the new colorants are resistant to the fading compared to other technologies.
LycoRed said its new beta-carotene colorant products line is non-foaming and avoids clumping issues common to some powdered colorant formats.
LycoRed color global commercial manager Roee Nir said that the company R&D team of scientists worked around the clock to develop the new colourants for food and beverage applications.
"Lyc-O-Beta Intense and BetaCote Intense allow our customers to significantly reduce costs and enables them to create clean-label and vegetarian products at highly competitive prices," Nir added.
"Manufacturers, especially makers of beverages, consider higher colour intensity and stability their top priorities when it comes to natural colourants."
