Japan's Steel Product Exports Totaled 3.393 Million Tons in November, Decreasing by 4.3%

According to statistics released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF), the country’s exports of steel products totaled 3.393 million tons in November, decreasing by 4.3% year on year and falling by 2.5% from a month ago.

The country’s export revenues generated by steel products totaled US$3.321 billion, down by 5.9% year on year and falling by 2.8% from the previous year.

Among them, 824,000 tons were hot rolled coils, decreasing by 13.6%; 329,000 tons were galvanized steel sheets and coils, falling by 18.3%; 238,000 tons were steel plates, down by 3.6%; 229,000 tons were cold rolled coils, dropping by 1.1%; 75,000 tons were welded steel pipes, declining by 16.4%, all compared to the figures in the same month of 2012.

Meanwhile, Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese steel products with 639,000 tons, up by 2.3%; China was the second largest one with 522,000 tons, rising by 16.9% and Thailand was the third largest one with 397,000 tons, falling by 16.5%, all compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.
