EPI Will Sell Licences for The Australian-Developed PIQET LCA Tool

Environmental consultancy Environmental Packaging International (EPI) will sell licences for the Australian-developed PIQET life cycle assessment (LCA) tool for packaging in North America under a channel partnership with Australia's Sustainable Packaging Alliance.

PIQET (Packaging Impact Quick Evaluation Tool), created and managed by the Australian-based Sustainable Packaging Alliance (SPA), is a computer-based tool that is widely regarded globally as the leading streamlined LCA program.

"We launched our channel partnership program to support our rapid expansion of PIQET, and EPI is integral in supporting that continued growth throughout North America," SPA chief executive Leanne Fitzpatrick said.

"With EPI's reach and expertise, our channel partner agreement presents a great opportunity for SPA and PIQET, as well as our clients," she said.

EPI will also provide account management services for PIQET clients in North America, including training and technical support.

"We are pleased to offer access to this valuable technology to help clients continue to measure and improve their sustainability performance of their packaging designs," EPI president and founder, Victor Bell, said.

Founded in 1998, EPI is a consultancy specialising in environmental compliance, product stewardship and sustainability issues related to packaging, batteries, electronics, and other products.

PIQET was launched in 2006 to allow packaging designers to benchmark the current sustainability performance of their packaging to optimise new designs.
