Russia has imposed ban on food imports from the EU, the US and some other western countries, in a response to sanctions imposed over Ukraine.
Russia Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was quoted by BBC as saying that the ban is imposed on fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, milk and dairy imports.
With the sanctions imposed, the countries such as Australia, Canada and Norway are also affected.
Earlier this month, Russian authorities have imposed a ban on imports of fruit and vegetables from Poland, following EU sanctions against Russia over Ukraine.
In the last month, EU and the US have imposed sanctions on Russia, which includes restrictions on key sectors of the economy as well as individuals.
The first round of sanctions has been imposed, after Russia annexed Ukraine's Crimea region in March 2014.
