Turkey's Steel Exports Totaled 1.27 Million Tons in August,Slumping by 25.2% Year on Year

According to data released by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), the country's steel product exports totaled 1.27 million tons in August, decreasing by 11.2% from a month ago and slumping by 25.2% year on year. Meanwhile, the country's export revenues generated by steel products totaled US$953 million, decreasing by 13.4% month on month but jumping by 25.3% year on year. In August, the Middle East was the largest importer of the Turkish steel products with 591,000 tons; the EU was the second largest one with 156,000 tons and North Africa was the third largest one with 145,000 tons. In the first eight months of this year, Turkey's steel product exports amounted to 12.7 million tons, falling by 5% year on year. In the given period of time, the country's export revenues generated by steel products totaled US$9.5 billion, down by 10% year on year.
