It's reported that the US steel shipments totaled 7.98 million net tons in May, up slightly by 0.9% from a month ago while falling by 7.98% year on year, according to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). In the first five months of this year, the country's steel shipments amounted to 39.6 million net tons, falling by 6% in comparison of 42.1 million net tons in the same period of a year ago.
