Taiwan-based solar wafer maker Green Energy Technology (GET) saw November revenues increase 22% on month. The firm noted that December revenues will be flat compared to November and order visibility is clear. According to GET, solar wafers with efficiency in the range of 17.4-17.6% have accounted for 70-80% of total production, with ASPs around US$0.90/unit, and the price has been relatively stable.
Gigastorage's current capacity utilization rate is around 60% with crystal growing annual capacity around 300MW. The firm believes the global trade war and rising demand in Japan will likely push capacity utilization rate up after the Lunar New Year in 2013. The firm has been focusing on producing G3+ solar wafers with efficiency in the range of 17.5-18%. Gigastorage plans to expand solar wafer capacity in second-half 2013.
Eversol, another Taiwan-based solar wafer firm, recently completed a 1.5MW ground-mount solar power plant in Hiroshima, Japan, a project with Japan-based West Holdings. The plant will complete grid connections and begin to supply electricity in first-quarter 2013. Eversol hopes to expand cooperation with West Holdings to build a 50MW solar power plant by the end of 2013.
