Korea's Demand for Heavy Plates Would Decrease Substantially This Year

It's reported that Korea's demand for heavy plates would decrease substantially this year. According to estimates made by Posco Research Institute (Posri), Korea's demand for heavy plates might decrease to 9.78 million tons in 2013, the first time to drop to below 10 million tons over the past 10 years. It's predicted that the demand for heavy plates from the three shipbuilding companies would decrease by 1.2 million tons this year due to oversupply of shipbuilding plates caused by the sluggish global economy.
